The OPCData.NET is a unique and incredibly versatile OPC Client development toolkit. It consists of:

• OPCData.NET Component
• OPC Web Client ActiveX Control

You get both components as part of the "OPCData.NET" solution. You can use the .NET Component, or the ActiveX Control or use both! The OPCData.NET is a subset of the OPC Web Client, which has the additinal Web Service which can expose your OPC Data over the internet without the need of DCOM.

The Web Service utilizes web-technology to the max. You can send XML packets to the Web Service to read or write a Tag, or a range of Tags and it will return your data in XML packets to you. What does this mean? scalability!

You can bring OPC data into web-pages, executables, NT Services, shell scripts and more. Combining the OPC Web Client with the IOComp controls allows you to easily build OPC Client applications, but now you can build them in a scalable environment that will work on a local computer, local area network, intranet or even the Internet.
